The members of the Waldwick Fire Department mourn the loss of CERT member Thomas Schuckman.A TRIBUTE FROM MAYOR TOM GIORDANO

On Monday August 19, 2019, the Borough of Waldwick was given the sad news of the passing of a good friend, dedicated Veteran and resident of the Borough Thomas Schuckman.

Tom as we all knew him served his country proudly in the United States Navy. He was an active member of the Waldwick VFW 1049, The Waldwick American Legion Post No 57 and the Boy Scouts.

Tom worked for the Borough as a Crossing Guard and was member of the CERT Program. He had a great love for our borough.

You would always see Tom at the corner of Prospect and Ridge making sure our young residents were safe as they walked to school, and he would be at all the events the town held or organizations held as a member of the CERT Program.

I will always remember Tom being at the Boy Scouts Eagle Court of Honor Ceremonies with his Brother Veterans presenting a certificate and check to the Scout and I will never forget marching with Tom in the Memorial Day and Veterans Day Parades.

Tom was a gentle person who would do anything for you. We are going to miss his kindness and his unselfish dedication to Waldwick.

Tom you have fought the good fight, You have finished the course, You have kept the faith, May you now rest in the hands of God who will welcome you home and reward you for all the good you have done.
