Around 1045am this morning the Fire department was dispatched to the corner of E. Prospect St and Franklin Tpk for a reported vehicle on fire. Engine 634 was 1st due with Joseph Agugliaro as the driver PD was already on scene and started to knock down the fire with fire extinguishers. Upon arrival firefighters encountered a Verizon truck with a engine compartment fire. OIC of Engine 634 Lt. Paras ordered one handline to be pulled for extinguishment and cooling purposes. Firefighters Ken Warr Jr and Mike Ferrara manned the handline while Firefighter Roy DeBoer cut the battery to the truck. FF Ferrara then searched the interior of the truck for any signs of fire on the inside. Members from Company 1 being so close to the firehouse walked down the road and helped the members of 634 apply Speedy Dry to the road. All man power and units were back in their respected firehouses by 1145 am-A special thanks to Ex-Chief Joe Agugliaro for handling the pump.
