At 9:33am Rescue 1 was dispatched as the second FAST Team to Oakland where the OFD was on scene of a working house fire on Sienna Way. Oakland firefighters were unable to immediately attack the fire due to a natural gas leak in the house. Flames broke through the roof, igniting nearby trees. Firefighting efforts where then concentrated on protecting adjacent exposure homes. Even though the structure was a total loss, a great effort by the Oakland FD, and the other mutual aid units including Wyckoff TL 241, saved the surrounding structures from being involved.  Fantastic job to Oakland Chief Robert Knapp.  Rescue 1 returned to Waldwick shortly after 3pm.
