Tonight the WFD responded to a reported confirmed fire in a dryer at a residence on Waldwick Avenue. Chief Mike Ferrara called for additional units consisting of an additional engine, ladder and a FAST Team. WFD units arriving on the scene found a fire inside the dryer and the house completely charged with smoke. The fire was extinguished quick with minimal damage to the structure. There was a dryer fire in Fair Lawn the other night. Makes me know we all need to clean our dryer vents out and never run it when we are not home.

What a beautiful thing. This is the type of stuff that should be on the news. You guys are an amazing bunch and the fact that you are all volunteers speaks beyond volume of your dedication. True meaning of who St. Nick really is.
